I purchased the adaptor and using my iPad Air 4, it works, however, my huge disappointment is that the images on the iPad are so small that this is simply not worth pursuing. I adjusted the font size, etc, but extremely disappointing. Learn from my experience and dismiss this idea of using your iPad for a monitor with a Mac mini. Simply not worth it!

Thanks for a really helpful comparison. It looks like these are slightly older models than what's on the current CZUR webpage, so some of the specs might be different. But I am going to ask and hope that you can offer some guidance. You mention the "camera" or "sensor" quality (for example 13 vs 24 megapixels on the two current Shine models) and dpi readings (240 vs 440 in your video). Does this indicate only the resolution quality of the scanned image or does it indicate how effective the two models are in keeping all parts of the page in focus on large, thick codices? I would be scanning handwritten manuscripts, so edge blur is a major concern. And for those very thick codices, what happens if I simply position a Shine on a higher platform to get all of a larger format book in a shot? Would that work or would the page be out of focus? And I guess as a final question, does the mat have any practical function? If scan without it, is there any problem? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Frank. I have a couple questions about the CZUR Fancy Pro. I use an Android phone (Samsung) and an HP laptop. I have a sewing education business where I want to do online classes. I would like a set-up where I can seamlessly move from a camera on me, to a laptop view, to a camera on my sewing machine or on my work table. You mention that there is a way to create a "studio" type set up with the Fancy Pro, but you did not elaborate on how to do that. Can you explain how to actually do the switching from one view to the next, as if in a real-time online class? Would you need a second CZUR Fancy Pro (or just another simple camera), or can all this switching be done with just my laptop and the one Fancy Pro? Sorry, I'm so far from a techie, a caveman would say, what's wrong with you?! LOL

Now I just wish I can use my ipad keyboard and to control it.

Can you charge your iPad while doing this? Or only if you have the iPad case that takes a charger? And I’m guessing you can’t use that iPad keyboard/trackpad built into the case to do work on the Mac mini?

There is another way. A bus powered wifi router. You can velcro it onto to the Mac mini. Then use screen sharing to connect to the Mac mini. I use this to connect to MainStage on the Mac mini from iPad.

Does it require an adapter? I have a hdmi to usb-c cable (HDMI out from MacMini directly into the USB-C port on IPad) and Camo doesn’t recognize the “capture card” it just says “none” in the drop down. OK just tried it with an adapter and it still doesn’t work…. Is there a minimum hardware version for the Mac mini? Mine is from 2012… Does it need a silicon M series?

That's neat.....but you could just take a MacBook Pro with you. Then you have a computer, a screen, a touchpad and a keyboard all in one ! and you don't need to plug into a power outlet

I'm looking for the best scanner to scan old documents with columns of text and numbers. I need to import them into EXCEL. Any errors will have to be individually corrected. I need to make the right decision upfront but none of the videos even attempt such a demonstration. Any suggestions based on your experience?
